Information about Health and Safety Committee
The Health and Safety Committee comprises of 7
elected Members and 8 Trade Union Representatives. It’s remit
is as follows:
a) To consider the circumstances of individual
accidents and cases of notifiable diseases and the study of trends
so that risks to Health and Safety can be identified and
recommendations to control or eliminate such risks made to consider
reports and factual information provided by Inspectors of the
Health and Safety Executive.
(b) To monitor the effectiveness of the safety
content of employee training.
(c) To monitor the adequacy of Safety and
Health communications and publicity in the workplace.
(d) To consider/appoint a Working Party to
correlate information and report on specific items as and when
required.
